Who wouldn’t plan a trip to Las Vegas just to watch cement healing itself. Bleutech Park’s press release was a barrel of laughs. Maybe Scott should see where that project is, or where the con artists are now.

Why wouldn’t the A’s and City start looking at the 22 acres the Rio has for them for, let me say $1…it’s a slam dunk, right?! Not too far from the Strip and good access and parking. Just a thought, again, if LV really wants the A’s.

Your thought aligned with mine seeing this design. This is a knock off of the Sydney Opera House. I’m not a big baseball fan, but this stadium looks sad and pathetic. What was that Field of Dreams line, “Build it and they will come”. I don’t know about that. I can tell you one thing. Making a specific trip to Vegas, to see a ballpark that looks like that, would not be happening for me.

I don’t know if MGM would buy the Tropicana and/or the property. I feel like they would not considering they divested Circus Circus. Didn’t they also sell off the land they had across from Luxor adjacent the Tropicana? MGM seems to have migrated away from budget properties minus Excalibur and Luxor. It does not seem they would add Tropicana to their portfolio and I don’t see Hornbuckle & Company being the type of people to build something other than what they have going on in Japan.

I’m beginning to think of this Oakland baseball stadium project as another pie-in-the-sky thing like that giant ferris wheel project across from Mandalay Bay or the much hyped NBA facility that’s been talked about for years.

Why would you use prime real estate for a sports team? I don’t see ticket tax money going back in the system so, unless your team is having a playoff year, attendance would be poor driving ticket prices even lower. How would the casinos or residents benefit from a ballpark? Is this the product of wishful thinking by a sports team that’s on it’s last leg and trying to marry LV without revealing the serious baggage of both financial red ink and no team talent. The numbers just don’t add up and financing billions to build a stadium better have rock solid numbers.
