I just went to Harrah’s Cherokee NC during my birthday month, February 2019. I took my Caesar’s Card to the Total Rewards booth (which I’ve heard will be changing to Caesar’s) to get my reward. The clerk told me that with the change of name there will be no more birthday gifts. That’s more than name only.

I saw the announcement about this that CET put out on Facebook and they were positively bubbly with enthusiasm over the new card. I read the FAQ’s and they seemed to say pretty much what you did. Since, short of winning the lottery and blowing it all in Vegas, I have no chance of making it to the higher tiers, the free nights for Platinum, etc don’t affect me at all. For those of us in the cheap seats of the tier world, it seems that it’s mainly going to be a name change. I’m a little disappointed in the look of the new cards. I’d expected something a little more dynamic. These are rather dull.

I just hope they aren’t holding back a surprise for the actual roll out. The last time CET started talking about exciting changes that we were sure to be deeply enthused about, it turned out to be that they were adding resort fees–that WE had asked for!

Here’s hoping they haven’t been talking to the marketing geniuses that redid the Be Connected players club rules.
