Five New Things We Spied in Downtown Las Vegas
We love just roaming downtown, because you never know what you’ll discover. Here are five new things we thought were worth sharing.
1. One Bar Coming to Golden Nugget
The more the merrier when it comes to downtown bars! This new one at the Golden Nugget looks like it’ll face the Fremont Street Experience, replacing the previous walk-up bar called, from what we recall, The Bar. Update: We hear One Bar won’t be the ultimate name of this new bar, because the Golden Nugget was informed there’s already one with that name at Golden Gate. Still, bar. And new.
2. Rush Lounge Renovation at Golden Nugget
We love us a good construction wall! This one says the hotel’s Rush Lounge is getting a makeover. The construction wall is a weird, free-floating structure, so it’ll be interesting to see what’s actually being renovated.
3. Gazebo at Downtown Grand
There’s a lot going on at Downtown Grand, including this new gazebo on a rooftop. The Downtown Grand says this will be part of an “urban rooftop retreat” called Picnic.
Downtown Grand is the former Lady Luck, and we can’t wait for this whole deal to open, especially the part about being able to gamble in the street.
4. New Entrance at Golden Gate
One of our favorite downtown casinos is getting a new entrance. Technically, you could also use it as an exit, but why in the world would you want to do that?
The addition of this new entrance may have been sparked by the congestion farther down the Fremont Street Experience. There’s a stage in front of the Golden Gate, and the bottleneck may be made even worse with the opening of the Slotzilla zipline ride. Way to solve a problem before it’s even a problem, Golden Gate.
5. Evapor8 at Neonopolis
This new hookah shop and lounge opened Aug. 8, 2013 inside Neonopolis, but it was new to us.
We can’t be everywhere, so if you see something new around Las Vegas, Tweet at us or visit our Facebook page and let us know.
